So, the age of AI is certainly here….
Go look around DeviantArt and youll likely see 100, if not 1000 times the AI generated artwork than human generated
(No, this article was not written or assisted by AI)
This is a scary age for a producer and even scarier for an artist.
For me, what is important is that we always produce the best we possibly can.
Our artists have become our friends here internally and Ive asked them to not be afriaid or against AI, but to learn things and stay afloat with the newest technology. After all, things like the mobile phone camera didnt entirely kill the photographer.
With all that being said, the last thing we ever want to put out, and will NEVER put out, is more of the ‘AI slop’ that is so obvious and boring to look at. We are producers of what we hope is the highest quality product, to people that support us financially to keep that going. Our goal remains the same, to make the best possible product and keep the people happy.
In regards to the latest technology, some of it has come around from Google, when combined with other services, allowing us to do some creative things which we had not done before.
If someone knows of others that make similar “art” with AI, please talk to me about it, so we can collab.
Here are some examples:

that was made using the still image on the right, which some of you might know – which could be turned into a FMG animation or comic EASILY
Below – is taking an image of Mercy Graves and buffing her up a little
Above are some example image with Mala from Superman, reacting well to orange Kryptonite
Below is a mix of images of Black Cat buffing up
What if Arthur got bigger in that episode?
Below are some adjustments to Megavolt from an old cartoon
Or heres one of Supergirl growing
or a random going through a super transformation
some of Goku
this one isnt that good, the tech got way better, but its all about the imagination
some other random images
anyone know this artist who was the inspiration?
last but not least, a great page from one of our comics, can anyone guess which?

Maybe just avoid using AI altogether, that’s not an audience that’s gonna hang around once the bubble pops..
All of these images feel so lifeless. Like plastic dolls pretending to be human. How can promote AI slop like this when it has no soul?
DON’T USE AI!!! Telling your artists not to be afraid of AI and then using something that steals their work to make ‘art’ is disingenuous at best and downright destructive at worst. AI work isn’t Art. It has nothing to do with Art. And comparing a phone camera to camera photography is false equality at its best. Don’t use AI. A lot of people will leave.
For the comic, that’s easy, its from Robb Phipps… :😀

Thanks for the breakdown — the comparisons were particularly useful.
